Is your water heater affected?

DEFECT A component of the water heater may be improperly manufactured and allow carbon monoxide into your caravan, motorhome or horse float camper.

HAZARD Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas and can cause serious illness, injury or death. Carbon monoxide has no smell or taste, is highly flammable and can only be detected with a carbon monoxide alarm. Loss of consciousness can occur within minutes and death can occur within hours.

WHAT TO DO Consumers who have not already had their unit inspected must not use the affected water heater in gas mode under any circumstances, even if they have a carbon monoxide detector.

The remedy for this recall was updated on 29 January 2024.

An inspection is no longer required, all affected water heaters that have not already been inspected will be replaced for free.

Costs and Compensation

Coast to Coast Caravan and Leisure will cover the costs relating to the supply and installation of the new water heater, and any required associated work (e.g. modification of cavity and gas and/or water lines).

 
Coast to Coast Caravan and Leisure will offer compensation for any additional consequential loss suffered by the consumer where there is damage or devaluation to the caravan or motorhome attributed to the installation of a replacement water heater. Consequential loss will be determined on a case by case basis.
